Manning's new best friends

08:04 AM ET 08.14 | For the sake of trivia, Broncos fans might want to remember this much. That first player who caught the first pass from [Peyton Manning] in Thursday's preseason opener at Chicago, that's Jacob Tamme. And he plays tight end, a position that last year often seemed to be an afterthought in the spread-option Tim Tebow offense. Tamme, one of two free-agent tight ends signed in the offseason, was the target of two of Manning's seven passes (one fell incomplete) against Chicago. ... In the span of one offseason, the Broncos could go from a team that largely ignored its tight ends to a team that features them. ... It starts with Tamme and Joel Dreessen, who replace Daniel Fells and Dante Rosario as the team's two top tight ends.

If nothing else, it should be an interesting season to watch the Broncos. Again.

Last year was the interesting year. Once Tebow took over it was 57 minutes of screaming at the TV followed by 3 minutes of screaming at the TV. The only difference was during the last 3 minutes you were usually happy.

This year will be different, and hopefully the Broncos do better against the teams that convinced Elway that Tebow really wasn't going to be the answer.

Good Morning Boys, Sounds like Manning Plays a Little Different than Tebow!

What difference does it make which teams you beat? If you have a winning season, the fans are happy. It's only an issue with elite former QB's who want to look good to former football players.

This is not nothing we already knew since Clark was one of Manning favorite targets in the past.

He's not as mobile and has a surgically repaired neck.

Going to the playoffs was great. Beating Pittsburgh was awesome. Having the Patriots totally destroy the Broncos for the second time that season, not so much fun.

That pittsburgh/denevr playoff game was a tough one for me. I'm no $tealer$ fan but I wanted them to win that game last year.
