Tebow's top-secret Wildcat practice

08:07 AM ET 08.14 | Cortland, N.Y., became an Area 51 of sorts on Monday. The Jets, with Tim Tebow at the helm of the Wildcat, are trying to go retro, doing their best to imitate the offense brought to the NFL by Miami in 2008, when current offensive coordinator Tony Sparano was the Dolphins' head coach. The Wildcat is based on ancient single-wing concepts, and the Jets believe it will be the perfect change of pace to their base offense, guided by quarterback Mark Sanchez. But to keep it on the down low, they scheduled their most extensive Wildcat installation so far during training camp on a day in which practice was closed to the public. Plus, they restricted media members from reporting any specifics on how the formation was used and what personnel participated, other than Tebow, of course.

Can't blame them for wanting to change that pace. I would too. I know teams like the Patriots are always looking for ways to change what Brady does with an offense. Yes siree Bob.

At least the wildcat is something different to look at. And you can't deny that it gives the defense twice as much to prepare for.

I think the idea is that the pass will completely miss the receiver and bounce off of a defender into the hands of the tight end. It will be a set play because Tebow couldn't pass through a tire 10' away anyway.
