08:19 AM ET 08.14 | UCLA linebacker Patrick Larimore has made the most difficult decision of his football life. [Larimore decided] over the weekend to medically retire after suffering his second concussion in a six-month span. Larimore, voted a team captain in 2011 and undoubtedly the heart and soul of the defense, informed the coaching staff and left camp Sunday night. The 6-foot-2 fifth-year senior out of Hart High suffered a concussion at the tail-end of spring camp and went down again just two days into fall camp. Initially during fall camp it was believed that Larimore was experiencing heat exhaustion but soon it was revealed that it was worse. There was no indication on how soon Larimore would return but nobody expected that it would come to this.

What a huge loss for UCLA, and all of college football. Larimore was the driving force behind the defense that held USC to only 50 points last season. But in all fairness that was in the Coliseum.

I was surprised to hear that he had 2 concussions, because I thought most UCLA students had over 3 before they agreed to go there to play football. Granted Puff Daddy Jr. probably just smoked enough chronic to equal the mandatory minimum.

Still UCLA will be a top 5 team this season... in the Pac-12 South.

Well, they did play for the conference championship last season.

Most of the time I find you entertaining. Sometimes though, you really are a bagadoosh.
