08:03 AM ET 08.15 | Perhaps former Florida sprinter-slash-running back Jeff Demps can have it both ways. Less than eight months ago, [Demps] made a life-changing declaration, giving up football to pursue his Olympic dreams. Now, with a silver medal in hand, Demps is realizing he can have the best of both worlds. The versatile runner and receiver on Tuesday retained NFL agent Daniel Rose and is drawing interest from several teams, including the Bucs. "There's a lot of interest," Rose said. "We talked to some teams before the Olympics, but we wanted him to concentrate on the Olympics." ... "I've spoken to the Bucs," Rose said, "but there are a lot of other teams interested. He's not committed to any team yet."

The ability to run away very fast when you hear a gunshot would serve him well in Detroit.

If he wants to play pro football, he should learn how to speak Canadian, eh?

Bob Hayes had a great career in the NFL. The only man with both an Olympic gold medal and a Superbowl ring. RIP.

Anyone watch a certain Mighty Mite named Trenton Holliday run one back for the Texans the other night? Sproles ain't a whole lot bigger than Demps or Holliday. With all the new contact rules for DB's and the strict rules about how these guys can be hit or not hit- the smaller players have a better chance of having a career as a specialty player in the NFL.

Hope he gets some good looks. As much as I hate listening to Costas, he even mentioned the idea of Bolt getting a tryout; however, Bolt's getting a workout with Manchester United.

Working out for the Olympics probably puts him in much better condition than most NFL players, he has a football background, he could do very well in the NFL.

The Olympics could provide a lot of teams with help:
Michael Phelps could swim for the Dolphins.
The crew team could help the Vikings out on the lake, playing with their oars.
And that Chinese badminton team could do a lot for any team looking for that #1 draft pick.

Not even close...he was a GATOR so he can play. He's not just a track star, he actually played football at a high level. GO GATORS!

I thought about Bullet Bob when I read this article. Great athlete and one of those rare guys who could transition from track to football. Speed is great, but if you can't break a tackle or catch a pass...This guy has been successful at a top college level so would stand a good chance in the NFL. Packers should look at him since pretty much every running back they have is already hurt.

Sort of. They were both in the 4x100 relay, but they didn't run the same leg. Jamaica and Bolt got the gold, US got silver.
