08:06 AM ET 08.15 | Even if it's the preseason, Andre Johnson would like to see a little game action. [Johnson] who was kept out of the Carolina game to protect what had been a sore groin, hopes to play against San Francisco on Saturday. "If the coaches want me to play, I'll play," he said. "If not, I'll be sitting on the sideline. It's not my decision." Johnson was replaced by Keshawn Martin, the fourth-round pick from Michigan State. He had two catches for 24 yards and ran once for 12 yards. "Keshawn is a guy that doesn't say anything," Johnson said. "Everybody has always said that I'm quiet. He's quieter than me. You have to really pull things out of him to get him to talk, but he has a lot of talent. Since he's been here, he's been making lots of plays."

What is it with Johnson's these days????

August 15, 2012  08:11 AM ET

This is a guy that understands the game and his role. Good to see.

Quiet? That word is seldom used in the same sentence with the name of an NFL wide receiver.

Honestly, now that I think about it, other than Moss, T.O., Ocho, and Dez, not too many WR's put on that diva act these days. Good to see the younger ones like Johnson, Fitz, Megatron, Garcon and countless others that really do it the right way. I think the Divas just caused enough noise to make all WR's come across self-centered.

Relax, Andre. Preseason these days is more about giving guys who are on the bubble one more chance to make it before roster cuts. Veterans don't get much playing time. If the coach isn't "evaluating" you at this point in training camp, you're good.

He needs to concentrate more on staying healthy and less on playing in meaningless preseason games. I don't know if their defense without Super Mario will be able to hold the offense up like it did last year. They are in a great spot to clinch their division, but they need him healthy!

So the wide receiver tandem can be named "Keshawn Johnson". That'll work well.

Exactly!

After reading the headline and then the article, I'm still trying to see anything that shows that he's really bothered.

I don't know; but every time you turn around the interns are sticking one in the article.

Mario missed most of last season the D still did OK

You can tell he's really upset with his playing time. Look at the way he complimented that other receiver. Pure rage.

Yes, the media has been HARD on those Johnson's lately!

Johnson nursing a sore groin already? I'll be shocked if this guy makes it through more than 4 games this season. He's taking "injury prone" to a new level.

haven't they learned that it does matter where you stick your Johnson's?

Yea, I don't see the story at all. They simply wrote down what appears to be the most normal and tame conversation I've ever seen...

August 15, 2012  10:53 AM ET

This totally takes what Andre said out of context... The quotes they put in here are from an interview where they asked Andre about his thoughts of ALL the rookie receivers on the Texans... Stop biting on all this rumor BS people... same thing happened when the Texans and Dre were going through contract negotiations. T&R tried to spin that he was upset and may leave, which was never a possibility

He's in it to win it
