08:09 AM ET 08.16 | Until this week, Derrick Rose had let others do most of the talking for him. According to multiple sources, Rose's recovery is going extremely well, but although an increasing number of athletes have made relatively more rapid comebacks from ACL surgery, the 23-year-old doesn't intend to rush back into uniform. According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the plan is for Rose to continue to rehab through at least the February All-Star break. ... [Said Rose:] "I'm definitely two or three weeks ahead of where I'm supposed to be, but that still [doesn't] help the part healing-wise. I've still got to take that time off for my leg to heal. ... Knee's still numb in some areas. Hopefully I'll get over that."

I think the derrick Rose, as we know, is finished. What we MAY see if a toned down version of rose with controlled aggression. He may not have a choice if he intends to have a long NBA career.

That means he won't rush back cos the Bulls will be in lottery land without him. Personally I think he should take next season off...

True.....especially considering comments that the team president (Jerry Reinsdorf) made last weekend.
If the Bulls are in playoff contention, he'll come back when the doctors determined he's ready to play.
If they're out of play-off contention, they'll likely sit him for the whole season.

He's not the toughest kid in the world, but he does seem to be very methodical in his rehab. If he continues in this direction, he will return sometime next spring, but the quality of his play will largely depend on how much he is willing to take to get back to his pre-surgery aggressiveness.
