08:15 AM ET 08.16 | Coming off an 0-for-5 night on Tuesday, Ryan Braun was offered a breather on Wednesday. For the first time since he became manager of the Milwaukee Brewers, Ron Roenicke gave [Braun] the day off because of his struggles at the plate. "He thought about it for a while," Roenicke said Wednesday before the Brewers' 7-6 loss to the Rockies. "I mentioned it to him, he thought about it and I went back and visited him and he still wasn't sure. He said, 'Do you think this will be best for me?' I said, 'I don't know.' And he said, 'Well, nothing else is working, so why don't we try it?'" ... Braun is 6 for his last 41 (.146), without a home run since Aug. 1, and his batting average is below .300 (.299) for the first time since May 7.

I agree with Truth3.0 -- it's a long season, it happens. Hamilton was in a HORRENDOUS slump and he's busted out with a couple of days off. Likewise, they'll probably sit Beltre for a game or two. Braun apparently needs a breather.

Braun is either having the Brew Crew Blues knowing his team is out of it or maybe your right Mick he might have been on roids and now is afraid of getting caught.

The 'roids provide benifits long after you stop taking them. I wonder what it does to your body if you stop after a decade or so of using?

Good one. That stuff does not just leave your body the day you stop taking it. That 20/1 testosterone level is most likely down to around 5/1 by now. 2/1 is normal.

Screw Braun. He needs to give the MVP back along with all his syringes.
