New, vocal leader on the Notre Dame D

08:19 AM ET 08.16 | Zeke Motta, in taking over for Harrison Smith, who is now a rookie with the Minnesota Vikings, has some big shoes to fill. Motta has so far answered the call in replacing the departed leader of the Irish secondary. Granted, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Motta made eight starts each of the last two seasons, but the role Smith vacated -- essentially he was the air traffic controller in the Irish secondary -- isn't an easy one. Making plays is only part of the deal. Making sure the other players are in position to make plays is also a big part of it. "I think what we're most pleased with is his vocal leadership on the back end," [Brian Kelly] said. ... "We've had a number of opportunities for him to be vocal out there, and he's definitely done a nice job."

Hopefully no melt downs like BK.

What a surprise--the first three comments are from Haters.
ND threads are so good at attracting them. Must be like catnip.

Kelly certainly has an appreciation for maximum use of vocal output.

Nah, that'd be me...and I didn't say a word.

But, I actually like most of the domers on FN. Also like to give them a hard time, but they take it well for the most part.

No so, I enjoy and somewhat follow ND, what I said is true.

Of course you are right. Unfortunately, truth is often seen as an attack on the free world by some ,( not all ), Domers.

OK, in fear of being fined for a political statement on T & R.....when did we evolve as a society to a point where a dissenting opinion (or any conersation that doesn't agree with your point of veiw) is viewed as "hating"?

I know it's an election year, but just because I don't agree with you, I'm hatin' on you? WTFJJ??

Fan Nation will do anything to have a Domer thread. Like a guy from Philly told me once when I was in the service..."when you TALK your sheet, you better be ready to DO your sheet!"

Good point WPS. Voicing an opposing opinion or being brutally honest is not valued now...and is considered not PC! Suxes. I agree with you.

I will cut you some slack on making a political statement because the statement just plain makes sense. Have respect for other's opinions, even if you disagree. Civility is getting rare, unfortunately.

You are totally correct. That was my point.

The truly sad thing is that it can do much more than get you called a hater on these boards.
In many circumstances it can get you fired from your job for "not being a team player".

And DC, I'm guessing that as a retired principal, that you have no tongue left considering how many times you must have had to bite it when talking with parents!
