08:11 AM ET 08.17 | Arron Afflalo, from whom a successful season might help heal the wound that is Dwight Howard's departure, still doesn't quite look the part in Orlando. [Afflalo] was wearing dark blue Magic practice shorts, but his basketball shoes boasted light, baby-blue colors -- colors of the Denver Nuggets, his old team. "Yeah, I have to get some darker blue now," he laughed. Afflalo will have time to get his apparel coordinated before the season. ... Afflalo, a former UCLA star, is being handed increased responsibility. He served an apprenticeship during his first two NBA seasons with the Detroit Pistons, who picked him late in the first round (No. 27) of the 2007 NBA Draft. He then gradually played a bigger role with another veteran-laden team in Denver.

QUOTE(#4):

As long as he understands he is in a rebuilding situation he should be OK. He will still have some vets to play with. Big Baby, Jameer, Redick backing him up. It's going to be a fun year again in Orlando focusing on basketball without all of the dumb drama taking over.

For the sake of other Magic fans, I hope you're right and this upcoming season is fun for Orlando...problem is, losing usually isn't fun. OKC went through that the first 3 seasons after acquiring KD....

The guy who should be having a breakout year and help this team is Glen Davis, not Afflalo. But that's probably not going to happen. At least not in this lifetime.
