Struggling Haren at a loss

08:15 AM ET 08.17 | After yet another dispiriting start Thursday night, Dan Haren just can't seem to get his head above water. Haren touched 90 mph on just three of his 61 pitches and spent most of the night in the mid-80s -- a bad place for music videos and fastballs. He gave up home runs to Ben Zobrist and B.J. Upton. That's 22 in 22 starts this season (two more than he gave up in 34 starts last season) including at least one in each of his past 10 (a career-high). Haren called this year "one of the most frustrating stretches" of his career and admitted doubt creeps in. "Absolutely." ... "I'm trying to get back to where I was last year. I've watched video. I've tried to pitch like I was last year, but I just haven't been able to get any results."

its been a bad year for haren but hes a good pitcher he will get it back.. just think of all that money the angels spent and they cant even get past the oakland athletics. This by all means proves that 250 million dollars to one player is just foolish. Now maybe if you spent 250 million on a team it would work out better for you...
Hey trout if you want to have a chance at a championship just come over to the rangers.... Haha Angels suck!

Mental is maybe 50 per cent of the make up of a good pitcher. You can lose some speed on your fast ball as long as the movement is still there and have a good curve ball as a secondary pitch and you still can be successful.

22 HR in 22 games? Something's wrong--if it was mechanical, you would think the coaches would be able to spot it.

Strange that nearly every Angel pitcher, save Weaver (and it is too early to tell on Greinke) has been struggling for much of the year. Maybe it is time to change pitching coaches.

time to change pitching coach??well how long does the halos should hold back their pitching coach?? plus the offense its dead last and that its a fact nothing else!!!

every starter needs a supply but runs supply and the halos offense are to greedy to provide that, from game one the team has been touching the ground and to be even worse the franchise has good hitters except that they only hit sporadically, the pitching can do so much but there would be times that they would collapse as well thanks to whom?? THE ANEMIC OFFENSE HAS TO DO ALOT WITH ALL THIS ALBASTROS SEASON!!

when greinke agree to be traded to the halos, he thougfht that he would get great run support it didn't took too long to findout in the hard way, the angels offense its a very greedy ofgfense and if you really wish to win ten games in the season you as a starter or as a pitcher, would need more than time you will need to be very patient waiting for the offense to wakeup, when that's going to happen?? perhaps not this year but who knows? they may getting ready for next season!!!

the angels lost games in a very bad way, because they are a team who doesn't play with any passion, without any desire to win games, the halos had lost respect for the game and in every game they are only mocking themselves then the owner then the league then the fans,,, why??? because they are out of any excuse, this franchise has plenty good hitters but they refuse to play to their capabilities, after all they are making plenty money and who cares if the team doesn't survive in this ugly season??

starters averaged 6.44 innings per start in 2011 ,in 2012 they are averaging 6.12 per start the season has been a disappointment and heads will be rolling if the angels don't make the play offs!!

the bullpen has lost games but the starters haven't put the bullpen in position to succeed either, conssitently throwing short outings due to ineffectiveness or inefficiency, in 2011 season starters averaged 6.44 innings per start,,

but then again lets not forget the halos had mathis WHO have plenty experience behind the plate, and he would call a fair game in as many times that he played, then again angels catching poor offense was more important than their catching diffense, so why cray loud now?? you pay for what you get and the angels got what they wanted poor deffense behind the plate and plenty greedy offense from eiannetta and wilson,,,

this two catchers are the biggest disappointments in the whole angels roster!!!

the pitcher its only human, he will give as many runs up but their offense should had step up long time ago, i did said ten runs per game its a good supply of runs for the starters as a run support, but how many games the halos had lost all because of a lack of run support??too many games had been throwing to the trash thanks to their poor offense, pitching its to be blamed but their offense its the worse from the 30 teams in both leagues!!!!

no team can play good season if they lack a well experienced and mastered catcher behind the plate, if the catcher lacks in offense that shouldn't be a top priority, what it should be a top priority its the catcher's deffense in big words, DEFFENSE, TLR once he said about yader molina that if he didn't help the team in his offense that he would continue putting molina behind the plate and that he would played the catcher for his deffense and not his offense, as a matter of fact TONY LARUSA SAID yader molina can hit 100 average but i still would play him behind the plate,,,,deffense its more important than the offense from the catcher's position!!!

who does the starters reflect from?? if the catcher its a medicre catcher the pitching can't perform a good outing or a good game, pitchers without a good experienced and creactive cactcher they can't go any where, same its for the catchers a catcher who doesn't have any aggresiveness on any team shouldn't be allowed to play a full game, that's from my standpoint!!

pitchers relay in the catchers calls, the pitchers can't just pitch with just any catcher the catcher has to have some type of charisma, some type of a positive spark, and the halos catchers lacking in every area in that position!!!

when the angels get an agressive catcher a catcher who isn't a passive catcher, and that catcher show how to call every game without any hesitation then the game could be seen in the right direction till then this franchise would continue struggling to get better ERA from the starters and from the bullpen!!!
