Alabama targeting Michigan's Robinson

08:20 AM ET 08.17 | Since taking over as Michigan's starter in 2010, Denard Robinson has accounted for slightly more than 65 percent of the Wolverines offense, something that clearly isn't escaping Alabama. "He opens up things because he's very, very fast," Alabama defensive end Damion Square told reporters Wednesday, according to al.com. "As a defense, we've got to first and foremost come in the game and stop what they want to do first. They want to give him the ball first, and that's what we're coming to stop." It appears the nation's reigning No. 1 defense -- overall, scoring, rushing and passing -- will be targeting Robinson, who either passed or ran on 56.8 percent of Michigan's plays last year, and 58.1 percent in 2010.

Rocket science.

So, a defense thinks their most important job is stopping the other team's biggest playmaker? What a unique perspective...

A fortuitous hit to the right elbow, and Bama will see what his back-up is like.

Joe Kidd's not with us... yet.

They'll have to catch him first. He's faster than Usain Bolt.

I'm interested to learn what strategy Hoke & crew has to counter Bama's defensive strengths. We may not see standard Angry Weasels playbook. If they look to adapt to Bama's defensive moves and execute unexpectedly plays from known looks, TSUN could move the ball on Bama without undue reliance upon or exposure of Denard.

Any Angry Weasel fans online this AM?

This is a different 'Bama defense than last year ... younger and less experienced. It will be fun watching them vs. Denard & co.

Will they be able to handle him?

I have no idea. That's what makes CFB fun.

+1 Games like this definitely do. Better than the crappy OOC match ups.
