Auburn loses tailback to falsified transcript

08:02 AM ET 08.18 | Jovon Robinson will not help the Tigers this fall. The freshman tailback has been ruled ineligible after an investigation found that at least one of his grades at Wooddale High in Memphis was changed without proper approval. It's unclear how the ruling will affect Robinson's short- and long-term standing with the NCAA. He may be in position to file for a waiver to remain on scholarship through the 2012-13 school year without the possibility of varsity action. He also may be forced to head for junior college. A guidance counselor from Robinson's high school resigned recently after admitting to falsifying a student's grade report. That student is Robinson. It's unclear why the guidance counselor changed the grades and when they were adjusted. Sources familiar with the case said Auburn has not been implicated in the manipulation of Robinson's grade report.

Well I'm sure the story doesn't even scratch the surface. Its been going on for years. Not just Auburn.

True Van. First hand experience. My better half was a high school counselor for many years. Such was requested of her once by the college recruiter and parent. Fortunately, she refused to do so and the head football coach and principal backed her up. Parent threw a <hit fit and tried to play the political card with the school board and superintendent.
On the flip side, we've made fun of the recruitment of sophomores/juniors. However, the upside to that is they tell the kids they need to take better courses and pass them the last two years of high school or the scholly ain't coming. It can be a benefit as well as liability. Depends on the integrity of the adults involved.

Teflon Aubie
All those shenanigans with $Cam being ineligible for one day, then reinstated, them being found not guilty of funding Daddy Cam's church renovations, etc., and now this dude's grades are mysteriously changed but they don't know anything about it...
These guys need to go back and study their copy of the "SEC Cheater's Handbook and How To Keep Your Shenanigans Under Wraps Guide". This many stories in the media are a clear indicator that their skills and knowledge are sorely lacking. Barners, tighten your schizzit up!

Absolutely correct, it's amazing how badly the adults behave in many of these situations, certainly much better than the kids/students alot of the time.

Even though they read the Cliff's notes on that chapter, seems they studied in earnest the section that includes, If you hide the source of funds and don't cooperate with ncaa, all's good

This crew asked where you'd been. I told them you'd been terrorizing South Lake or Salt Lick...depending on whether you were in the Metroplex or Central Tex.

actually spent a couple of weeks in Australia and the Maldives, getting my timeclock re-synced in Laguna last couple of days. If the better half complains about my Saturdays the next 3 months I'll just remind her of the bungalow on the beach
Let the terrorizing of Southlake begin tomorrow, ATX on/off for the 3 months

Think if you do cooperate w/NCAA, all's good.

Not if they all stay quiet. Usually it requires at least 1 disgruntled party to provide receipts and docs to prove it. If they have the goods, then yes, cooperation is the best route - see tosu after the emails broke
ncaa even said that if they could get swore statements, they felt they could have sanctioned Aubie, but "no comment" was all they heard from parties involved.

I agree, I site USC as an example, and now possibly UO. The new protocol is this. Just agree and maybe sacrifice a coach or AD at worst.

And I mean SC as an example of little cooperation and UO total cooperation(as far as we know)
