Disappointing Locker muddles Titans QB race

08:38 AM ET 08.18 | Quarterback Jake Locker had a chance to convince his coaches -- and perhaps the city of Nashville -- he was ready for a big promotion. In his first NFL start, however, Locker's disappointing performance only complicated matters as the Titans routed the Buccaneers 30-7. He provided more questions than answers about his readiness as coaches move closer to a tough decision between the youngster and veteran Matt Hasselbeck. Locker is having a good training camp and turned in a solid performance coming off the bench against the Seahawks last week, but he didn't look nearly as sharp against the Buccaneers.

He's not ready folks. It's the PRE Season. Sheesh.

Maybe if their running back would decide to show up, that would take some pressure off of him.

Going to take time!!!

Chris Johnson looked good yesterday. He was moving and cutting like his old self. 4.5 rushes a carry and 2 tds.

Why is this a surprise to anyone??? Locker wasn't all that good at Washington and the Titans took a chance on this bum!!!!

Be that as it may, it's still pre-season. I base my opinion on what he did last year. You could be right; maybe he is back. I won't be convinced of that, however, until I see two to three games of very good performance.

So - based on this and based on earlier reports that Locker & Hasselback were about even in the QB race...

Sounds like the Titans are screwed.

Pre-season. Against Tampa Bay.

Actually a little sarcasm DD. It's very hard to get 4.5 rushes per carry.

He's sinking like Davy Jones.

VY looked pretty good in the Bills game, maybe they are wishing they had held onto him

I feel sorry for these young QBs. Everyone expects another Cam Newton, and if the kid doesn't perform well right out of the box, he gets classified as a bust.
