09:01 AM ET 08.18 | Joe Thornton's wife is Swiss and they have a house in Switzerland, but the San Jose Sharks centre denies, through his agent, that he has agreed to play for HC Davos in case of an NHL labour shutdown. A report originating in Switzerland said both Thornton and Rick Nash of the New York Rangers had agreed to return to the Swiss team they played for during the 2004-05 lockout.

Not trying to be a wise guy (for once) here, but what is it you find hard to believe? The entire state of California is a fiscal mess and the political party that runs the state and almost every municipality in has no desire to make the necessary changes to fix it.
