09:20 AM ET 08.18 | he Timberwolves have a pretty set front line -- Kevin Love and Nikola Pekovic will start, with Andrei Kirilenko and Greg Stiemsma behind them. And you can throw Dante Cunningham in the mix if you want. They may want one more big to round out the roster -- but Mehmet Okur? That's the rumor from Darren Wolfson, the channel 5 sports guy in Minny and contributor to the local ESPN Radio affiliate. "Against the cap, the #Twolves big man options are limited. But they're kicking around the Okur idea. Tough w/ just the vet minimum to offer."

For Vet's minimum he might as well go to Miami, no?

QUOTE(#2):

its funny-the heat & LA are over the cap yet somehow get things doneand Minny can't find a couple $$ to sign okur?- it just shows you that some teams put winning above anythingand some teams put short term +/- $$$ ahead.....it is no surprise why some teams are chronic winners and others-chronic losers

+1

I think he would be a good fight in Miami for the vet minimum. Another shooterbwhoncan stretch the floor. It's a bonus that he's 7 ft tall.

Do You Want To Run With The Pack, Bro?

QUOTE(#14):

they were headed there until Rubio (whom you were claiming 2 years ago was gonna be a bust) went down.FACT

Jgb asked if they made the playoffs. Not if they were "headed there". They didn't make the playoffs and there is no guarantee that they would have even if Rubio didn't get injured. FACT.

They have been mismanaged for years. Going back to when KG was there. They do seem to be improving and moving in the right direction. But, jgb is also right in saying that if you wanna be a good team, you HAVE to be willing to spend money. That is what OKC is doing. That is what Memphis has done. That's why they actually have teams that are in the playoffs and a threat to go deep in the playoffs.

No one is ever "headed there", they end up there. It could be said that last year the Spurs, Thunder, Celtics even Lakers were headed to a title but... they didn't.

In fact the Rockets and Blazers were headed to the playoffs with a better record than the T-Wolves and didn't get there.

Just saying!
