09:01 AM ET 08.19 | Coaches tend to "retire" and then drift back. You do something for so long, it gets in your blood. So you have to take what they say with a lot of salt. Not a grain. A lot. But Don Nelson is talking like there's no question about it, he's not coming back. Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com reports that Nelson has said he is permanently done with coaching, not interested, even if called.

Good. Stay away from the bench Don. Every team he goes to he starts to fight and fued with the star of the team. Then he turns the team to a "small ball" team. So if you're a player that stands 6'8 or more. Don't expect to get off the bench anytime soon. That is unless you think you can hit the 3 pointer. The Nelson will put you in.

I think the NBA is done with Don more than he is done with it. He was pretty embarrassing at the end of his last run.

1,335 regular season games.

And 1,063 regular season loses and no trips to the finals. At least Lenny Wilkens went to the finals twice. It was a long time ago, but hhe was there.

.557 win clip is something I'd take in a sample size of 2,300+ games.
