10:25 AM ET 08.19 | Fulham manager Martin Jol claims that no bids have been made for want-away midfielder Clint Dempsey. Dempsey, 29, scored 17 league goals in the previous campaign and has been linked with a move, with Liverpool thought to be the main contender. However, Jol recently claimed that the Reds had made no bid, and that the situation was 'embarrassing.'

I love Dempsey, and I know it's not his style, but he needs to shut up and quietly continue his stellar play. Right now, he is making it harder and harder for him to stay at Fulham or to transfer someplace else.

August 20, 2012  06:58 AM ET

The only logic I can see in this from Dempsey's side of things is in the possible scenario that Liverpool asked Fulham how much they'd sell Dempsey for, and Fulham asked far too much. So he's trying to force Fulham to lower their asking price.

If this isn't the case, and Liverpool truly has no serious interest at this point... then Dempsey is making a terrible mistake. Watch him lose his form now as a result of this crap and never again play as well as he did last year.

A sport that does not allow you to use your arms and hands is unnatural.

...which is exactly why the sport prompts such creativity in its technical play, resulting in a degree of aesthetic beauty greater than any other major sport.

Was that your point?

It must really upset you that literally 7 out of 10 people on the planet disagree.

Sucks for *you*, ultimately, doesn't it?

Soccer is intensly athlethic with powerful skilled players who must control the ball and pass and strike precisely while dodging and running at full speed. That's professional sport entertainment.
