Tide media guide ignores '11 loss to LSU

08:20 AM ET 08.21 | The pen may indeed be mightier than the sword. The 2011 season was a special one for Crimson Tide fans as Alabama captured its 14th national championship despite dropping a game against rival LSU during the regular season. But according to Alabama's football media guide for the 2012 season, that single blemish on the 2011 record never happened. A likely typo in the media guide shows lists every game as a win for Alabama, including the Tide's overtime loss on November 5 against LSU. The score is correctly listed as 6-9 (OT), only with the wrong result in the W/L column. It does, however, correctly list Alabama's 2011 record to be 12-1.

Im pretty sure one of the 14 is 1941 where 14 teams had better records, the AP ranked them 20th and they finished 3rd in the SEC.
They are counting 1964 where Arkansas had a better record, undeafeted, which included beating Texas. Which matters because Texas beat Alabama in their bowl game that same year.
I think they also count 1973 where they were ranked 4th by the AP, there were three teams with better records and Bama lost to Notre Dame in their bowl game.
A few of the others are kinda weak too ('26,'78) but I would put bama at around 8 or 9 legit claims for NC. When looking through this lens, it is still impressive.
