Cuban blasts Kidd: 'No chance' of jersey honor

08:03 AM ET 08.22 | Seems Jason Kidd didn't quite exit Dallas with the grace some important parties may have expected. The former Mavericks point guard apparently burned some bridges with Mavs owner Mark Cuban when Kidd decided not to re-sign and instead head to New York. Cuban said Tuesday he thought Kidd was returning to the Mavericks before the veteran point guard surprisingly changed his mind and agreed to sign with the Knicks. "I was more than upset," Cuban told the Ben and Skin show on 103.3 [KESN-FM]. "I thought he was coming (back). I was [ticked]." That answer came after Cuban was asked if Kidd would have his jersey in the rafters one day at AAC. Cuban said there was "no chance" of that happening after the way things ended.

Well seems like someone needs a hug...Where is Dirk when you need him?

I'm fine with it. If a player turns his back on the team you don't reward him later.

How about just sending Kidd a nice parting gift.
Like... maybe a fifth of his favorite "cruising" liquor.

Yes. It's just emotion right now. Kidd's jersey will be there, and probably before Terry's. Both will be after Dirk.

I'm also fine with it too, although I don't view it like you do. I wasn't exactly thrilled to death that my Knicks signed him at this stage of his "HOF" career. I also don't know that Kidd did enough during his stints with the Mavs to really deserve his Jersery in the rafters. I think he should go in the Hall as a Net (MPO). In fact if Cuban somehow changes his mind (possibe) it would be nice to have a second HOF'er beside Dirk to also rep the Mavs. In any event, Kidd will be honor without Cubans input anyways so it really doesn't matter. Cuban get over yourself.........you made the "profound" blunder of blowing up your team and not giving the team a chance at a second ring. "It is you whom exhibited little faith in them.

Cuban needs to get over it...he wanted J.Kidd to wait until his courtship of D.Will was over, then use him as the backup plan. Got he got burned.. J.Kidd 1 - Mark Cuban 0
