08:06 AM ET 08.22 | Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov took the occasion of a magazine interview to dig at his cross-city rivals. [Prokhorov] did his best to gain some summer headlines, firing a "little" salvo at Knicks owner James Dolan. Prokhorov -- who moved his franchise from New Jersey to Brooklyn, becoming intracity rivals with the Knicks in the process -- took a swing at his Knicks counterpart in a recent New York Magazine article, referring to Dolan as "that little man." In his defense, if there is one thing the 6-8 Prokhorov has over Dolan, a reported 5-6, is height. According to the article, the Russian billionaire went out of his way to throw a jab at his diminutive adversary.

That Russian just slammed on Dolan. Ouch. I like that guy just a little more. He's rich, crazy, Russian, and not afraid to speak his mind. The NBA got a little more fun,

And the Daily News did not hesitate to gleefully jump on Dolan as well when they referred to him as "his diminutive adversary".

Hells nah... the Knicks are going to be the 7th seed at best in the Eastern conference... They got alot of talent but their scheme doesn't fit the personnel on the floor...

Maybe some teams from the West are moving to the East? Thats about the only way NYK will finish that low.

QUOTE(#5):

But can his team do something on the court? We will see. Knicks may be a little bit better than the Nets.

Not even close. The Nets are now the second best team in the Atlantic div.

That's about right. They don't have all that much talent and that they do have is in decline or way past their prime.

QUOTE(#15):

and again- not disputing your seeding- as I think they can be anywhere from 3/4 > 5/6and pending health and if melo FINALLY gets that he has to play both ways, max effort all games....they can be dangerous in the playoffs- and even though I personally HATE the iso ball offense- I still don't though understand how you are saying their personnel doesn't fit the system- when basically the system is give it to melo and watch outso we agree ? that we'd like to see a different system....but the current system does fit - as I described above, no?

The ONLY system Woody knows to run is play iso-ball. That it was with JJ in ATL, and now 'Melo. That's it. That's the "system". He does have better schemes in defense, but then again, you gotta have players that WANT to play D first.

Knicks will get many wins just because 'Melo is very good offensively, and the East is quite weak. But this team is NOT close to being a championship contender.
