08:13 AM ET 08.22 | On the upside for Rich Rodriguez's new gig: Results at Arizona may not be judged so harshly, so quickly. These Wildcats are sure to stumble on their share of Saturdays. "I'll know we've arrived when we can play poorly and win," Rodriguez says. "Right now, we're not good enough to play poorly and win any of our games. We're not going to be there this year. We won't be there next year, as well." Time. The 49-year-old known as Rich Rod wanted more of it than he got in Ann Arbor, although who could argue now with Michigan's decision to fire him, after successor Brady Hoke's Sugar Bowl win in his first go-round? Greg Byrne, Arizona's athletic director, insists time is on Rodriguez's side in Tucson.

You have to admit thats a good gig if you can get it. Pulling down 7 figures for getting the hell out of the school

I asked my boss if I had a buyout clause... She just looked at me funny, well more funny than normal

He won't be expected to win against USC, but the alums want him to win against UCLA and ASU. He'd better do the latter or his days are numbered.
