Texas' best backfield ever?

08:14 AM ET 08.22 | Thanks in some part to an unsettled quarterback situation, running the ball will be an area of focus in Austin. They may be the best ever. Seriously. And, of course, seriously prematurely. But sophomores Malcolm Brown and Joe Bergeron and freshman Johnathan Gray could be the best running back threesome -- and Jeremy Hills ain't bad as a fourth-stringer, either -- that Texas has ever had grace Royal-Memorial Stadium at the same time. That's saying a mouthful for a school that's produced two Heisman Trophy running backs, college football's first three-time, 1,000-yard runner and several NFL greats, even some that barely had an impact here. Many of these had overlapping careers. Brown, Bergeron and Gray offer plenty.

I'd say it's the best POTENTIAL in a long time. It's a little early for BEST EVER. Let them hang some skins on the wall first.

True...suspect O-line and QB's who can't pass very well....if the opposing team can just gear up for the run 75% of the time, they won't be that effective....

Just you wait! We got the O line up to respectable status via JUCOs, now we're going after 8th graders and soon we'll be carpet-bombing 8-10 states for recruits. We're in the big time now!
