Red Wings D-man on the bubble

08:17 AM ET 08.22 | In the final year of a three-year deal, Jakub Kindl has some work to do to impress his bosses in Detroit. He responded to pressure well at the start of the season and had a good, solid stretch of games, but he trailed off in the second half and didn't make any appearances in the playoffs. Looking ahead: The Wings drafted Kindl, 25, 19th overall in 2005. He hasn't developed into the physical guy they were hoping for and remains a bubble player. Right now, he's in the lineup for the coming season, but that's because there are only six defensemen on the roster. The Wings are unlikely to go into the season without adding a blue-liner, or at least go very far into the season -- if it even starts on time.

What's this? The Wings actually picked someone who didn't work out for them? Just goes to show, it can happen to the best organization.

He was a first round selection...of course he didn't work out. They get props for their late round gems, but not much grief for their misses in the first three or so rounds.

What did you expect? All their good scouts are in Sweden. Not that I blame them...

I hope you had him sign it.

And no I'm betting there aren't many 10 year olds reading it. Hell, now there aren't many 10 year old that can read.

Bugs Bunny to this book in a heartbeat
