Harrell a cut candidate in Green Bay

08:05 AM ET 08.23 | Aaron Rodgers, of course, sits very comfortably atop the depth chart, but the role of No. 2 seems a bit unsettled. Through the first month of training camp, [Graham Harrell] simply hasn't shown enough to warrant the No. 2 job. If Rodgers had to miss a month, do you think Green Bay could go .500 with Harrell under center? Odds are the Packers don't, which means their best move is trading for a veteran. It's still 50-50 the Packers will keep Harrell. They've invested nearly three years into his development. But such a decision could ruin the season if Rodgers goes down for a substantial period of time. Coleman is a developmental player who should make it to the practice squad.

And here we are, discussing clipboard holders again.

Harrell hadn't shown sufficient growth to warrant continuing the experiment and as the Pack has no viable back up, I'm guessing they might give Seattle a call to see if Jackson is available.

There will be veteran QBs released soon enough. And really, just how many teams have a backup QB that they trust? Not many. Heck, half of them do not trust their starter.

It is a sad commentary on the league that a lot of teams will be interested in TJack.

We have T-Jack all packed and waiting in the lobby. Just waiting for some QB-starved team to send a cab to pick him up. We'll even pay for the cab. Please.

I think the ether is finally starting to wear off for both Seattle and Tavaris. They both cant believe how much they paid him.

And if Wilson ends up being the starter, think of how much they're paying Flynn.

Or is it even SADDER than team are always interested in David Carr everytime he's released from another club??? He was a former #1 pick...Tjack was never that big of a prospect

This is all on Petey. Good college coach, poor NFL one.

That's what Development is all about, Harrell has to get the reps now, he might struggle a little but most backups do, not every body is an Aaron Rogers, or Jeff Hoffsteadler for that matter!

Hey whats the problem? Donovan McNabb is available!

McNabb is the Mendoza line for NFL QBs.

I don't understand threads like this, isn't everyone on every team "cut elligable except your franchises ?

August 23, 2012  01:31 PM ET

Colt McCoy... Experience and might be decent if he doesn't have to run for his life every other down.

But then again - I can see an article tomorrow saying that "Farve would listen if Green Bay came calling"

Even Kevin Kolb is appalled at the money Seattle has tied up in 2 potential backups.

I can't wait until somebody bounces Rodgers' head on the ground and he gets a season ending concussion. Packers won't win a game after that

Last year it was Kolb... how did that turn out...

Exactly the way most of us thought it would.
