Players begin contemplating lockout plans

08:24 AM ET 08.23 | Hope seems to be dimming on the 2012-13 NHL season starting on time, which will leave its players looking for Plan B. There's a good chance that a player like 20-year-old Tyler Seguin and 21-year-old Jordan Caron will be playing for the Providence Bruins given that they're on entry level deals with only a certain number of games played under their belts. Mike Mottau said he already has a few concrete offers from Europe. ... It would make plenty of sense for 25-year-old Tuukka Rask to head back to his native Finland if labor issues continue into October and November, but the goalie said he hadn't made any of those plans as of yet. "I didn't go through [a work stoppage] the last time around, so I'm not even sure what I would do," said Rask.

Tuukka could campaign with Timmy. I'm sure there's tea to bag and stuff like that.

Hey, during the last lockout I saw the baby Kings play probably the best AHL Hockey I've ever seen. And I only paid $12 per ticket! I'll miss the B's, but having the Monarchs and P's nearby wouldn't be so bad.

I have a feeling Tukka and Timmy would be campaigning on different sides of the street! Tea bagging or not! :O

I like minor league (and college) sports...the 2 Pawsox games I went to were awesome...but here's hoping it doesn't come to that

I'm almost positive that there will be a stoppage. As I've said before, Fehr has to prove his manhood by not agreeing to anything without a stoppage. Preferably he''ll be able to get two teams destroyed with his efforts. He cost baseball 1/3 of a season and the World Series, but he only destroyed the Expos. Is it all Fehr's fault? Of course not, but without a work stoppage he's afraid it'll look like he's not trying. More and more I don't care. I'll be watching AHL hockey in several cities, paying 1/4 the price and enjoying it.

There has also been 18 years of labor peace in MLB since 94, so something positive came out of that.

I wish the Phantoms were still playing in Philly for just this reason. I used to have season tix and it was great hockey to watch at much more affordable prices as you say.

Lots of things to do if they shut things down.

In fact I'm almost looking forward to it.

Those Boston boys are true metrosexuals; warm tea bags prevent wrinkles around the eyes :))

Couldnt disagree more. Yes I love to read, listen to my music, workout and the casual horizontal monkey dance with the wife...as well as youth hockey with the boy.....but for me this is the last professional sport I enjoy watching and actually look forward to my NHL Center Ice schedule and enjoying the games around the league.

My plan is digging through the bookshelf in the closet; re-reading all the classics I have stockpiled.

Maybe a few exhibition games will be lost but I believe the season will start on time. This go-round the owners have much more to lose then the last one and the players just want to play and collect their cheques. There is not a deal stopper on the table like the cap was last time. I think they get it done

This has got to be the dumbest comment ive seen in a log while...

seriously who wants a work stoppage ?? Both parties are trying their hardest to get a deal done...this would be devastating to hockey if there is a another lock-out.

The owners want the players to cough up a percentage of their incomes again..so yeah that is a deal breaker IMO..thats why im kinda shocked at all these players signing long term deals...if i was a player id wait till the CBA is completed before i sign a contract...another 24% roll back AFTER i sign my contract ?? Haha..no thanks..id rather wait it out.

I get enough hockey all year without Centre Ice. And come the playoffs, which is all that really matters, we get every game free anyway.

Sunday Ticket is another thing all together. I'd get force fed Seahawks games without it.

Well, it certainly seems like Dwarfus Horribilus wants one. When the NHLPA offered to keep playing through the 15, Set. date until a new deal was reached, the little twerp said a pretty flat out "NO" and that they (the owners) would lock the players out...so maybe...NOT the the dumbest comment?
