Already time to wonder about Frazier

08:17 AM ET 08.24 | And a sophomore shall lead them. Auburn coach Gene Chizik announced Thursday that Kiehl Frazier will be Auburn's starting quarterback when the Tigers take the field against Clemson on Sept. 1. .... The announcement itself isn't the story. The story is how Frazier handles the assignment and the pressure that goes with being the starting quarterback of a team two years removed from Cam Newton's Heisman Trophy-, national championship-winning season. The story is how he adapts to [Scott Loeffler's] offense, how he directs the Auburn attack against some of the toughest defensive units in the country and how he manages his talents and his emotions. Without question, Frazier has the tools.

Loeffler is their OC, Auburn is switching to a more Pro style offense. Gator fans know how that transition goes.

Nah, most of us aren't old enough to have ever seen him fight, so we don't get the dig.
FWIW, I've watched Frazier since he was in the 8th grade. He's a good kid & I wish him well (except for Oct 6th). IMO he'll make some great plays with his legs and some bad plays with his arm.

"aren't old enough to have ever seen him fight" Ouch. That hurts. WPS just "diplomatically" called you old 0-6!
WPS, you missed some of the best bouts in the history of boxing IMHO.

They still have a lot of that stuff on youtube, though.
Sometimes I'll get on a boxing kick on youtube and watch a lot of old bouts from the 80s and 70s. One of my favorites was when Marcos Antonio Barrerra beat up Prince Naseem for 12 rounds.

I agree....only thing I have is a young Tyson killing everone, and a crazy - **** Tyson biting off the ear of Hollyfield.
To be honest....not much in the way of boxing registers over the last 20 years.

It takes awhile. They are starting 2 freshmen on the OL, so it may be a long year for Frazier.
And they don't really have that single setback guy that runs in between the tackles. Jovon Robinson was expected to take on some of that load.

When Tyson was up and coming, he was fun as hell to watch. Technically proficient with brutal power in both hands. He started getting sloppy after the death of Cus D'Amato and he got rid of Freddie Roach, (I think that was the guy that had been with him for years and years).

Gotta throw some of the Foreman fights in there...and the Liston fights early in Clay's career.
<hit, it is hard to believe we didn't win one fickin' medal in men's Olympic boxing this year! There is no excuse for that. Two of those guys and the '76 team were some of the best US boxers ever.

We did real well in 84 as well, iirc. 9 Golds, 1 silver, and 1 bronze.
