08:21 AM ET 08.24 | A trip to Toronto reminds a hockey fan just how much the city loves the game. When you arrive at the airport, the officer checking your passport says: "I hope you have a positive meeting today." When you climb into the car to drive you into the city, the driver says: "We would trade our entire team for your entire team." When you check into the hotel, the clerk says: "Welcome, hope we meet you in the playoffs this season, sir." When you are eating your dinner, the waiter whispers to you: "I think you were mistaken in allowing Semin to sign in Carolina." When you order coffee from room service at 6am, the attendant says: "Enjoy the coffee, and I love Mike Ribeiro -- he is a great pickup -- great hands."

Hmmm...I'm confused. Did you leave the sarcasm tag off that comment? I would imagine most Leaf fans would be in favor of trading their entire team for Washington's. Unless 35-37 win seasons are what you Leaf fans are shooting for.

maybe we could have bettman and fehr sit in that same place?

For a team that just squeezed into the playoffs? With a declining Alex Ovechkin for another decade? With no defence and a young goalie that had a hot playoffs? I can name 15 teams i'd trade the Leafs roster with than DC's.

They've got more than one decent, young goalie...can't say the same about the Leafs.

And as for your last comment, don't you mean 25 teams?
