Kinder, friendlier Josh Beckett

08:14 AM ET 08.27 | Even Red Sox fans would likely concede that life hasn't been easy on Josh Beckett lately. [In Los Angeles, Beckett] leaned back in his chair, in front of the locker he had acquired barely 24 hours earlier. He looked relaxed, comfortable, as he submitted to yet more questions from the media. It was a sight rarely seen in Boston of late, as Beckett declined to speak to reporters on the days before he pitched -- and often on the days he did pitch. This, apparently, is the kinder and friendlier West Coast version of the pitcher whose relationship soured with the Red Sox organization with which he spent the last seven years. Both Beckett and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez maintained their excitement at having been traded to the Dodgers

I've also heard he doesn't kick puppies any more....................

Getting away from the Boston media should make anyone happier.

life is now 'finger lickin' good for him.

Wait 'till he finds out that In and Out Burger won't deliver.

I'm just glad he's gone, anyway.

LA is going to regret this deal big time. Sox dump over $250,000,000 in contracts and get some good prospects in return. What the prospects do, who knows, but I was shocked that they got anything of value back.

It won't make the media happier. They will have to look elsewhere for stories now.

I was happy to see those bloated contracts go away.

It was like the Red Sox had all the leverage in this deal.

QUOTE(#9):

L.A. will be satisfied if these acquisitions perform to their norm and the Dodgers make noise in the playoffs.

Crawford is in year 2 and just had major surgery.

Beckett's norm is what exactly?

A-Gon will do well, but he was caught dogging out trots to 1st base this year on grounders.

QUOTE(#10):

Hmm Bobby Valentine should be very worried right now

Why? Because the media may come after him? He'll eat that right up. He thinks he's the center of attention in whatever room he is in anyway. He'll tell you he invented the wrap for Gods sake.
