08:19 AM ET 08.27 | Brian Vogler, struggling to describe exactly what he's been seeing in practice, is certainly encouraged. Ultimately, the Alabama tight end just couldn't put what he'd been experiencing with the Crimson Tide offense throughout the preseason into words. "We've got explosive guys out there," Vogler said. "So many different looks ... so the things that we can do in the passing game are -- it's hard to explain. I guess you guys will see during Michigan what we can do." What coach Nick Saban wants to see are more "explosive plays," which he classifies as a pass of more than 16 yards or a run of more than 12. ... [AJ McCarron has said this] is the deepest he's seen at Alabama.

Saban wants a more explosive offense because his defense is not as good as last year's squad.

Bama has plenty of NFL level talent but most are 2 or more years away instead of 1 year away.
