Hawks worried about Hossa

08:25 AM ET 08.27 | Concussions take time to heal, which means any lockout might work in Marian Hossa's favor. The last image the hockey world has of Hossa is not a pleasant one. He was sprawled out on the United Center ice after getting run over by Phoenix Coyotes forward Raffi Torres in Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals. ... [Hossa] expects to be ready and at full strength for the start of the season. More will be determined in training camp, when Hossa has to hit and be hit, but for now it appears the Blackhawks should have their dominant point-per-game forward back in the lineup. "Yeah, he needs to play," Quenneville said. "We anticipate he'll be fine, but there have been a lot of guys in our League over the few years that have had a similar injury and it takes time."

QUOTE(#2):

I was wondering when we'd hear something about Hossa.

It can't be that bad Danny or Burkie would have tried to trade for him.

1 of the best 2 way forwards in the game...is there another winger like him besides Parise ?

if amount of T&R threads is any indication, Doan must be at least top 3

Maybe he'll sign with the Leafs so he can be closer to the Hall?

Yeah he got his suspension reduced from 25 games to 21 games. I think the reason he reduced the suspension was because his name is not Matt Cook.

As much as I don't like what Raffi did, I Hossa even less. A wash.

all suspensions shouldbe directly tied to the injury...especially on a cheap shot

While I don't disagree that is a fine line you have to skate. If someone is out head hunting with their elbow and lands the suspension should be just as long if the victim was hurt then if he wasn't. You don't have any control over whether they are injured only the actions that cause it.

correct, and the possiblity of someone trying to work the system always comes up....
But if you slew-foot someone and do some damage, you should be prepared to cool your heels for as long as the person your kicked

Interesting thought - - then Bertuzzi would still be "suspended". And coach Crawford should be too since he orchestrated the hit on Moore.
