Michigan making the wrong moves with Toussaint

08:18 AM ET 08.28 | At least privately, Brady Hoke may already have decided. Hoke sounded Monday like a coach pretty sure whether he would play suspended 1,000-yard rusher Fitz Toussaint against Alabama on Saturday night in Arlington, Texas. "Oh, I probably have an idea," he coyly demurred. ... The right move is sitting Toussaint and [DE Frank Clark] against Alabama, the defending national champion. The popular move is punishing them by letting them sit out the coin flip and then getting them in the lineup. After all, so many fans seem to think this is the biggest game since the 1998 Rose Bowl, when U-M won a share of the national title, or the No. 1 vs. No. 2 showdown with Ohio State in 2006, and they worry about an obvious lack of experienced depth.

Coaches at schools with wimpy early OOC games don't have to make tough decisions. Just suspend them for however many LSOP games are early. Several have done that for this year haven't they?

What did this kid do?

I find it odd that someone with a felony charge is listed on the 2 deep roster. But that is what I expect from the Leaders & Legends

they will be embarrassed on the scoreboard, allowing toussaint to play embarrasses the woeverines integrity....another example of win-at-all-costs, even though they won't get the win

DUI. Hoke wants to win so he doesn't want to bench Toussaint.

Like I always say...."It's all about wins and losses...." NEXT!

It doesn't matter if he plays or not they lose. But the coach is going to send a message to his team with this decison that he makes.

How can the kid be ready? I thought "suspended" meant you were barred from practices, meetings, etc. Unless of course the suspension was a sham. But ................

Nowadays, suspended just means you don't get TV time in a meaningless game to pad your stats

Sit out the coin-flip? That should be sufficient. They didn't kill anyone, after all. Then they might have to sit out a whole quarter. You do have to maintain discipline.

Michigan is a wrong move.

So where is our pal Alumnus this morning? I'm anxious to read his thoughts on this TSUN conundrum.

A***nus lives to bash the SEC and since failing to sit a suspended player could look like an SEC move, he's keeping his yap shut....
