08:18 AM ET 08.28 | Finally, the season looms -- in this case, for Tyler Bray and Tennessee, with N.C. State on the docket. Bray is on the brink of a season in which he could solidify himself as one of the game's top quarterbacks and a bona fide pro prospect, putting any questions about his durability, his maturity or his leadership to rest. The first test is Friday night at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, where the Vols open the season. ... "We have a team, an offense, that's been together for three years now," Bray said. "We're going to be good ... This team does not lack for confidence." ... "Expectations are through the roof with that young man," said Tennessee offensive coordinator Jim Chaney. But he has yet to make it through an entire season.

That would be legendary, Petrino at UT next year. The Signs at the Swamp would be awesome.

No. He is nowhere near Leaf. Bray just makes a bunch of stupid decisions like a lot of college kids but as the starting QB at UT, people notice him and can identify him when talking to cops.

Yeah but, Ryan Leaf was also in trouble with the law on several occasions.

Bray will be entering the draft after this year..I am sure BP will be on their radar

If Bray thinks he is going to enter the draft after this year, then he better have a very good year at Tennessee, or he will be like Darron Thomas at Oregon and not get drafted at all!!!

Braysus is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better NFL prospect than Thomas....

FIFY

I would have taken Thomas as my QB over Bray last year.

Can Bray ride a jet ski, throw a beer bottle and give the throat lash gesture all at the same time?

Are you serious??? Bray hasn't done Jack **** as of yet!!! Maybe Bray has more potential than Thomas had in college, but as of now Bray has been hurt too much.

I agree!!! Google Thomas' passing stats at Oregon for 2010 and 2011.

Just because his stats are better doesnt mean he is better.... More potential in college and the Pros...Heck even Kelly wouldnt give DT the benefit of the doubt he would start this year.. part of why he left

Okay, it is only my opinion, but as of right now, Bray must prove himself this year. Yes he has the potential and I wish the kid well!!!
