08:02 AM ET 08.30 | The sobering reality that he is no longer employed by an NFL football team hit Chad Johnson in the strangest of ways Wednesday, and, in a surprise to almost no one, he tweeted his immediate reaction. [Via @Ochocinco:] "That awkward moment when you realize you're not on Madden13 and you have to create yourself..." Shouldn't have subscribed to automatic updates, Chad. ... Chad shouldn't fret. Creating your own player isn't too bad. He'll be able to give him the speed he no longer has, and the catching ability that's abandoned him. And, in a break from reality, he can give himself a ridiculous last name that will humorously appear on the back of his jersey. Win, win.

I'm glad he's not on our roster anymore, but y'know, I just can't bring myself to dislike this guy. He's a goofball, but mostly in a good way.

And I hope he didn't hurt his head on his ex-wife's thick skull.

Keep smilin', Chad.

I agree, he was a wacky goofball, but never in trouble, (until now), I kinda feel sorry for the guy,at least a little bit. We don't have Chad Ochocinco to kick around anymore.....But we still have Chad Johnson ;-)

That is true. He lasted 11 years in the NFL. Quite an accomplishment. over 11,000 yards and 67 TDs. I will give him this much, he always danced to his own tune.

He wasn't around long enough for them to take any.

which means he did about as much with the Dolphins as he did with the Pats.

In an odd way I will miss the guy. The NFL is full of corporate guy players and their agents. It sure was fun "back in the day" when it was filled with real "characters." Joe Don Looney, Alex Karras, guys who would wrestle in the off season. Homer Jones betting to run a race against a horse and on and on....All business now.
