08:03 AM ET 08.30 | Now this should ring as music to the ears of Eagles fans. The maker of Michael Vick's protective gear is ready to put Philadelphia Eagles fans at ease. "I guarantee he will not get hurt," Rob Vito, CEO of Unequal Technologies, told ESPN.com on Wednesday. Vick suffered an injury to his rib cage when he sustained a hard hit during the Eagles' second preseason game. But despite taking only 12 snaps this preseason, he is set to start Philadelphia's season opener against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 9 -- thanks largely in part to the protective vest created by Unequal Technologies. "I'm looking forward to it ...to give me more protection and just to see what comes out of it," Vick told the Philadelphia Daily News after Tuesday's practice.

being a good QB requires intelligence that Vick lacks....it requires the ability to throw accurate passes which Vick cannot do consistantly...

It sounds like they should but I'd bet they don't put their money where their mouth is.

Do they make full body casts, that is what he really needs...

With the pressure the Eagles are under this year, Unequal Technologies better find someone who can replace Vick when he gets hurt.

He needs shin guards and wrist guards. That's where dogs usually bite you.

Mike Vick revolutionized the QB position. I see that many of you are spoiled by the same old QB standard of hike and throw. Vick's an excellent passer, and whereas he may not be Drew Brees accurate, he more than makes up for it with his feet. He's a born leader and has the Eagles in great shape to win when he's healthy. Being Mr. Glass is his only weakness. You joes saying he's a sucky QB are off base.

I gotta a queston for those of you whom reside in the metro areas where the Pats, Packer, 49er, and in particular the Eagles resides..........who are champs of the NFL at present?........no need to answer that question, I think ya kinda get a hint as to who they are. I wonder if I'll hear they won't make the playoffs, look at our history as champs, this is Packersland, no fool, this is Pats country and all the rest of bravado that you constantly hear from these enthusiastic and overzealous fanatical fans in the places. Just thought I'd ask that question.

The Big Blue is lurking..........can you hear them?

Unequal Technologies? Aren't the the manufactures of those attack dog training suits?

I wouldn't even call him "Mr. Glass." But, it's his style of play more than his fragility. There's a reason for the longevity and success of pocket quarterbacks, and for the short lifespans of running backs. When you run out of the backfield against an NFL defense, you are going to take a lot of punishment.

Its called offensive line protection...hard to be accurate throwing from your back or always being flushed out of the pocket.

I realize its hard for ppl to be objective when talking about Vick so most times you wont get a reasonable assessment. PS. I'm NOT an Eagles fan and always hated the Falcons living here in Carolina so...but I DO watch football and cant deny that his line gave him minimal protection last year. The times he got hurt he was IN THE POCKET like ppl say he should be..this just in-- defensive lineman are big and it hurts when they constantly fall on you
