08:20 AM ET 08.30 | Central to both the lockout conversation and the buzz in Minnesota, Zach Parise understandably would like the NHL season to start on time. But like most of his contemporaries, the forward is prepared to dig in until a deal gets done. "I think the '04-'05 season is still pretty fresh in everyone's minds, and now we find ourselves in the same position," Parise said after a workout in St. Louis Park on Tuesday, Aug. 26. "It's not good for the game. It's not good for anyone. We're ready to play. We want to play. But (NHL commissioner) Gary (Bettman)'s pretty adamant about his third lockout of his tenure." Most players are working out with the idea that camps will start as scheduled the third weekend of September.

Of course he is, Zach. The last lockout led to the players folding like a cheap suit and taking drastic pay cuts followed by 6 years of tremendous financial growth for the league.

I have to say, Parise sounds like he's reading "talking points" from fehr

what he meant to say was:
Asinine contracts like the one I got are part of the reason the players union can't take management's poverty cries too seriously.

For certain, Fehr has the players much more disciplined than Goodenow did. I suspect most quotes from players will be NHLPA talking points and not much more. Ah, well, Hershey is only a couple of hours away and they have lots of chocolate there.

I can't remember the name but it's the only highway where the roadkill is gerbils.

If we are talking about the CBA negotiations, I would say it's the Talking Heads song Road to Nowhere. To get to Hershey, I take the PA turnpike and then a bunch of other roads that I don't know the names of.

Correct. And when they get tired they take a break at the Richard Gere rest stop with the lemmiwinks mascot for the kiddies.

Your best bet is get off of the Harrisburg E exit on the Turnpike
Take 283 towards Harrisburg, get off 283 onto 322. Get off at the Hershey Park Dr. exit and the Giant Center (home of the Bears) will be on your right as well as Chocolate World and Hershey Park

Only 2 hours from my starting point in MD too, (and Seabird's). Chocolate, affordable seats, usually decent hockey and a seat at Troeg's Brewery. What's not to like?

Excellent directions. Now I'm getting all nostalgic and hungry for Hershey hockey. So, Dwarf and the Fehrless One, take your time. Hershey when I'm staying in the DC/Balt area, and Lake Erie Monsters when I'm home in Cleveland. I'm feeling better and better about your stupid arguments.

Not sure if you know but they just moved Troeg's from Harrisburg to Hershey not that long ago

I should know I can see the Giant Center from my back yard

We got at least 2 Wild threads a week last season. Now that these 2 overpaid players are there , i cannot see less then 3 or 4 per week. No better reason than that to embrace a delayed season start.

You guys are ignoring Spiny's and my attempts to drag this thread into the sewer.

Lucky dog! You may be able to rent space to hungry, hockey fans from the DC/Balt. area! Be an entrepreneur, get rich. Since I'm retired now I can be your limo driver! :-)

Wait until the season starts. There will be endless threads on how the Wild are doing with Parise and Suter.
