08:08 AM ET 08.31 | For the record, Colt McCoy didn't do himself any favors with a 9.2 passer rating. Browns coach Pat Shurmur has decided whom he will keep as his No. 2 and No. 3 quarterbacks, but he will keep everyone in suspense until finals cut are made [Friday]. "I do know what I want to do," Shurmur said after Thursday's 28-20 loss. ... "I'm just not telling you, right? And I'm allowed." And perhaps as a shot to all the folks who clamor for [McCoy] to be the starting quarterback, Shurmur said: "I think all three quarterbacks played like backups tonight. I'll just leave it at that. I can see a lot of different scenarios." By the time the clock strikes midnight [Friday], one of three quarterbacks will most likely be gone: McCoy, Seneca Wallace or Thad Lewis.

Several teams already have his number on speed dial.
But seriously? I think the Browns will keep him. The only reason to let him go would be to get some cap room.

Is it a hot seat? Is it like Andy Reid's hot seat, or more like the bottom-burner in Dallas?

Maybe it is wistful thinking, but he's been a good soldier for a crappy team. I don't know if he's an NFL starter, but I'd like to see him have his shot on a team with some talent.

I think there are teams out there that would trade a 4th round pick for him. If Cleveland really doesn't want him, why not get something in return?

It won't be Wallace and the only reason to dump McCoy would be money, since he's a more bankable backup than Lewis at this point. McCoy certainly didn't help himself last night in a game that was basically for scrubs. Dismal passing exhibition.
