08:22 AM ET 08.31 | Floyd Mayweather has more riding on the Cowboys Classic than just about anyone. The boxer reportedly has placed nearly a $3 million bet on No. 8 Michigan to cover the spread against No. 2 Alabama on Saturday night in Arlington, Texas. The Wolverines are 14-point underdogs. Mayweather is from Grand Rapids, Mich. This news comes from the International Business Times, which cites @Sportsbook_com, the Twitter account for sportsbook.ag, an online betting Web site, as its source. According to a USA Today report, Mayweather bet more than $2.9 million in nine different Las Vegas sportsbooks. Reportedly 69 percent of the bettors on sportsbook.ag have put their money on Alabama.

14 points is a big spread.

Hate to say this but to quote from a troll recently "Robinson is going to get crushed" If/when that happens, losing by 14 will look good to the TSUN's

That's why he's a troll. We'll see if the 8 new starters on 'Bama's D can find a way to crush DRob and the 10 other players on the field.

Hey I'm not knocking you! I've seen similar claims from non-trolls over the last couple of weeks!
If this were a mid-season game where 'Bama's D had some game experience playing as a unit then I might believe in the 14 point spread. But 14 points IS a big spread and most of it is based on reputation/laurels.

That's true, but it also take's an offense a little longer to get things going in the first game of the season. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, I would be tempted to take the points.
I think the sure bet would be to take WY and the points, 28.5 is way too many.
