08:27 AM ET 08.31 | While preparing for his 15th NHL season, Danny Briere is also staring down the barrel of his third lockout. He has to be [in Philadalphia] because he has kids in school in South Jersey and is committed to the area -- even if there is a lockout. "You try to think something good is going to come out of every meeting, but until there is a little bit of pressure, it seems not much is being accomplished," Briere said. "We've all heard that [NHL Commissioner] Gary [Bettman] thinks the fans don't matter. They're gonna be back whenever we need them. I think that says it all right there from their end. Obviously, we want to get back on the ice as soon as possible."

I agree with the owners last proposal (if true) as long as they make everything public so the PA knows the numbers are legit.... which I doubt they are or they wouldnt be using the Mitt defense...

Danny should get on Fehr's and the NHLPA's asses and demand they get it done so he gets a chance at taking shots at NHL goalies come September.

I'm not sure who is right in this fight, but I do know that Buttman doesn't give a damn about fans, players or anything hockey related at all. I have no sympathy for the owners at all. They hired him, and they got what they deserve. It's up to them to get rid of him. He is ruining the sport. I realize that to the owners it's just business, but not to us. There are millions of little boys and girls that would love to be playing hockey as a pro. I know I can't afford to see even one game a month anymore. Thanks guys. Won't be back after this one.
