09:00 AM ET 09.01 | Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas said he was embarrassed to be admonished by coach Joe Philbin on this week's edition of HBO's Hard Knocks and is determined to stay out of trouble. Philbin, meanwhile, praised Thomas' on-field work and said he's "looking forward to seeing him contribute to the team this year." Thomas was summoned to Philbin's office last week after being late twice in four days -- for the team flight to Charlotte, N.C., and then for a weightlifting session. "I'm getting queasy about you," Philbin told Thomas in the one-on-one meeting that was broadcast on Hard Knocks. "You have to take responsibility for your own career. I don't want to have to talk to you again." Thomas said he was late to the flight because road construction caused a detour, and he got lost trying to use another route. He said he arrived at camp at 10 a.m. Friday even though players weren't expected until 11. Being scolded on Hard Knocks "was embarrassing because I never got in trouble before," he said. "Everybody saw it. People started texting me. I told my mom, 'If you see me on Hard Knocks, don't be surprised.' You don't want to give them a reason to get rid of you."

I am truly amazed that any NFL team would allow Hard Knocks into their camp.

This is what happens when reality tv rules the airwaves. People begin to play up to the cameras just for the show.

Nothing wrong with what Philbin told the player. He was late more than once and he has to take responsibility. Philbin doesn't want to be his babysitter or protector. Message delivered.

That being said ... the Hard knocks cameramen were in the room so it wasn't a one-on-one meeting. Reality TV isn't all that real. Nothing happens by accident on TV.

Have never watched the show. Never will. Now, if it was called " Hard Knockers?" Well, that would be different.

Pictures of Joe Philben make me nostalgic for the good old days. When we used to pull up to the pump, ask for 2 dollars worth of Hi-Test, and have him check the oil.

I don't know if Philbin is the real deal or not......but Daniel Thomas needs to grow some tougher skin. It wasn't that big a deal......Just play football son.

Bleacher Report has a ranking of the 100 hottest NFL cheerleaders although I'd rank 14 and 87 far higher and 36 should be #1 IMHO...
