09:48 AM ET 09.01 | Heralded middle infielder Jurickson Profar will be among six players who will join the Rangers on Saturday when the roster limit expands to 40 players. Profar, 19,. has spent the season with Double-A Frisco, which is headed to the Texas League playoffs. Manager Ron Washington said he will use Profar as a pinch-hitter and pinch-runner with some occasional playing time at the middle-infield spots. The Rangers added left-hander Martin Perez, right-hander Yoshi Tateyama, outfielder Leonys Martin and utility player Brandon Snyder from Triple-A Round Rock. All four have appeared with the Rangers this season. The club also put left-hander Robbie Ross on the disabled list because of a strained forearm. That will allow them to bring back right-hander Tanner Scheppers from Round Rock. He had been scheduled to stay in the minors through Monday because of an option assignment.

Can't wait to see this kid. Supposed to be Elvis Andrus with power.

He is supposed to be the real deal, but not sure who he would replace--neither Kinsler nor Andrus look likely to go anywhere. Beltre is a fixture at third. Well, it's a nice problem to have, if he turns out to be as good as projected.

obviosly he can't play SS because they already have one unless the rangers trade their current SS for a minor leaguer can that happen?? doubtfull!!

if the rangers manager idea of giving to the rookie playing time as a pinch runner and as a pinch hitter is very little to see from the new rookie, then again the rangers manager don't have enough trust in this player!!

lets just be clear with this player rangers may bring him up but that doesn't mean they really need him, the rangers franchise roster has more hitters than any team in both leagues and where is the logic? i mean even if this rookie does something good at the end nobody would noticed why?? because the team has much better players players WHO are highly skilled than this simple prospect, now if profar were in any other team then his presence should have high impact right from the first game in his arrival,

unless the rangers trade their current SS or trade this rookie then this player would have more versatility and better options in playing the game at the major league level, but by playing as a utility player, the player would have very little to prove he skills,,,

Ladies and gentlemen Elvis has left the building?

that's my question, where can this player play?? as a utility player? that's just showing the kid i don't trust your stuff not just yet!!!

this rookie can't shine where is too much light if you know exactly what i'm trying to say here, the player needs to be where a team is too weak in their offense, too weak in the hitting demands role, with the rangers where can this player play? and how can he develope in the right tune as a player? UTILITY PLAYER ROLE? slapp in the face for him but then again the rangers lineup doesn't need him at all!!!

The kid is 19. They have plenty of time to find a spot for him. They're giving him a little taste of the majors, just like a lot of teams do with rookies in September.

September 1, 2012  02:40 PM ET

It's not that odd of a thing to bring up your best minor leaguers when the roster expands. This move means absolutely nothing other than to give the kid a chance (or taste as someone else put it) of playing in the majors. Don't read anything into it that isn't there. Leonys Martin has been up and down several times and he was brought up the first time last year ...

besides ... sooner or later, Elvis may move on ... I mean ... Bor**** is his agent ...

the rangers would sign elvis before they let him walk away, boras? just pay the man good contract and things are solved without any problem,,,

. BorAS

this is adrian beltre agent, and the rangers are willing to make any deals with boras, plus most of the times boras clients are really good with high skills and great performance at every game season season out!!!

September 1, 2012  03:28 PM ET

adrian's beltre only bad contract was in seatle due to a cold weather plus the mariners stadium its too big to hit homeruns this mariners stadium its good to get more injuries than to play tough baseball, montero, smoak, figgins, and how many more players had been in the injuried list?? thanks to the horrendous mariners stadium, in seatle there is nothing to be happy about, in the mariners complex stadium is nothing but a injuries to continue to happen at every day basis,,,

September 1, 2012  03:47 PM ET

the rangers should activate mike napoli whenever they do have to play against the punchless angels, mike napoli would hit 500 avg without any problem ofcourse after the rangers finish their games againt the halos napoli should hit the DL just like that!!!

profar would make a impact perhaps at the giants team, or in the rays franchise but been in the rangers franchise this rookie would have too little of a opportunity playing time!!!

September 1, 2012  04:36 PM ET

the red sox are well out of the picture in the east division,, thanks to the wreckless owners/and to their new manager who never could get alone with players and could never understand the red sox chemistry at all,,,

September 1, 2012  04:38 PM ET

the astros are about to screw the majors rules why?? because they would give the ball to the steroids roger clemens user,,, everybody can see the peds through clemens eyes!!!
