07:01 AM ET 09.02 | A member of the Notre Dame football team's administrative staff experienced a medical emergency on the team's charter flight home from Dublin, Ireland. Ernest Jones, Notre Dame's director of player development and engagement for the football team, will remain overnight at Memorial Hospital of South Bend while undergoing further evaluation and treatment for dehydration, according to Notre Dame athletic department spokesman John Heisler. Jones is listed in stable condition. Jones became ill and fainted with about two hours remaining on the team's Delta charter flight home, after the Irish beat Navy 50-10 earlier in the day.

What does a Director of Player Development and Engagement do at the college level? It sounds like something the NFL would have.

Good morning Van, Piratey et al; it's 2:30pm in Jyvaskula, Finland. No one carries ESPN over here. Congrats on your win, looking forward to Sept 15th. Bring the Megaphone, and plan on leaving it!

Hopefully, not life threatening.
He may have partied hearty in Dublin, and been overcome by the emotion of winning the first game.

Hijack...

Either some of the creampuffs weren't as "creampuffy" as thought or some teams are overrated. Thoughts?

UTEP might have given the shot hear 'round the world if their special teams play hadn't sucked. OU 24, UTEP 7.

Saw the score but hadn't heard/read how it happened. Read somewhere the only reason they got that game in EP was because OU lost an OOC game when TCU joined the Big 12.

Is UTEP better this year, or OU not as good as advertised?

How about Texas State handling Houston fairly easily?

Hoping to find out if that fighter really bet and lost $3 million on Michigan. Very disappointed.

QUOTE(#13):

OU was not good. The UTEP running back had 177 rushing yards and ran roughshod all over their D before leaving with an injury. Landry was blah and 68 of his 222 yards came on one busted play by UTEP. UTEP left at least 9 points on the field with missed FGs. OU STs were terrible. OU did a good job running the ball though.

...last night and I agree. Timing on passing needs to get worked out, as expected. JB hasn't been with the team that long and Metoyer is a Freshman. They will learn.

D wasn't all that great...but to use your reasoning, UTEP had 207 yds but 71 of those were on one busted play as well..

I'll take 427 yds offense any day and twice on Sunday....but could have been better. Your guys probably would have beaten OU yesterday, but they didn't play yesterday....still got some time to work out some kinks....

Oh yeah and i forgot to add that UTEP went for it late in the game and deep in their own territory while only down 10-7 but turned it over on downs. OU drove about 30 yards for the TD to go up 17-7. UTEP then gave up a long run with about 3 minutes left for the final score.

Got it....but you keep on gloating... :)
