Russell Wilson outworked Seahawks quarterbacks

07:27 AM ET 09.02 | Russell Wilson was not handed the Seahawks starting job. I'm told in July he often was the only football person at the Seahawks facility, as he showed up every day at 6:30 a.m. to watch tape. Wilson has a little Peyton Manning in him. Wilson keeps a diary of every practice on an Excel worksheet.

Good for him. I hope the kid keeps the starting job and has a solid season.

Yes, good for him. Flynn probably thought he didn't have to compete and didn't get anyway that Pete is desperate for a winning season leading the playoffs. Any way he gets that - including the possibility of having T.O. suit up - is the right way. This is the kind of story you like to read, although it makes the acquisition of Flynn look very ill-conceived and foolish.

Yup, the signing of Flynn looks Snyder-esque.

Except Little Danny doesn't give out big contracts to players with potntial. He gives them to over the hill Veterans or bums.

Chicago hosts Stu's Colts next Sunday. That should be fun to watch.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Luck fares in his first real game.

Yeah, well there's really no shock when you remember that they paid Clipboard Jesus (Charlie Whitehurst) a fortune to bring his 3rd string skills from the Chargers to the Seahawks. I've been impressed with what Pete's regime has done here, for the most part, but the Whitehurst thing was a head-scratcher and now the Flynn situation has the makings of being another. Hopefully Wilson is the man and we don't have to worry about that anymore.

GW, good comment!!! I agree that PC is "desperate for a winning season leading the playoffs" The Hawks have been desperate the last two years, a good example was signing Charles Whitehurst to a big contract and then letting him go. I seen where the Hawks released Kellen Winslow yesterday!!

I for one am glad to hear that. I was beginning to worry about you because of your worrying. Which is worrisome.

I think you guys are being a bit harsh. No one in that organization could have saw that Wilson was going to come in and beat out Flynn like that. If Flynn was not signed, and they drafted Wilson and anointed him starter everyone would have said that was crazy. Him beating out Flynn for that job is probably the best case scenario for that team.
They can still move Flynn for a draft pick or two. Somebody who is QB hungry will take a flyer on him....sooner than later I wager.

Like I said... It would take someone really dumb to give up a draft pick or two for a dude that couldn't even beat out a rookie...
Like the Bidwells.
