08:51 AM ET 09.02 | The Nets' ongoing search for frontcourt depth has led them to Houston, and a meeting with Andray Blatche, who was cut this summer by the Washington Wizards. Blatche, 26, has been working out in Houston with a number of other N.B.A. players, under the guidance of John Lucas. He was set to meet with Nets Coach Avery Johnson sometime this weekend, according to two people with knowledge of the meeting. It was not clear whether the Nets were prepared to make Blatche an immediate offer or were simply exploring their options.

He's a better fit San Antonio or Miami. They will both need more size in the playoffs now that Howard is in LA.

Who is this Howard dude you speak of ????

If this kid is anything like what FN members make him sound to be. The Nets just might be an immediate force in the East after all!

QUOTE(#9):

Good morning, Eli.

I think he's good but we might make him seem better than he is because of how much we talk about him here. We only do that because there is nobody else left out there right now except maybe Darko that can step in and help SA or Miami.

Morning sir. Although I have confidence in my team this year, I don't want SA or Miami to get better.

Go Nets!

A bit about Blatche written by Ben Golliver, cbssports:

Blatche, who just turned 26, brings with him significant baggage. The basement-dwelling Wizards paid him paid $23 million to not show up for work which included arrests, punching a teammate, spats with coaches, a long-term benching because he wasn't in shape last season and the infamous "Lapdance Tuesday" promotion.

As noted a few weeks ago, if Blatche is going to succeed in creating a second chapter for himself, it will likely need to come on a veteran-dominated, playoff-bound team where he can play a specific role as a productive reserve. No real pressure, no real responsibilities, no real expectations.

Dennis Rodman 2.0 without the rebounding.

Yeah, the conclusion of the article supports what you were saying, that he would fit well with the Heat or the Spurs. But seems like all teams are staying away from him.
