Penn State CB leaving early
As expected, Penn State cornerback Justin King will forgo his final collegiate season and enter the NFL draft in April, his stepfather, Terry Smith, said yesterday. Smith told the Web site scout.com yesterday that his stepson informed Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley of his decision last week. As a junior, King cannot officially declare for the draft until tomorrow. Because he has yet to sign with an agent, the all-Big Ten cornerback could withdraw his name from consideration by Friday. He is projected as an early-round pick in the draft. King's stock dropped this season after a standout sophomore season in which he gained accolades for limiting future first-round choices Ted Ginn Jr. of Ohio State and Robert Meacham of Tennessee. King was hampered by a shoulder injury for most of his junior season and had several shaky efforts.

He's good but i'm not sure about this decision. He was lit up several times this year.

MISTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE.
He's a great athlete, but he can't cover if his life depended on it.

wow...this is a dumb move on king's part..he got burned quite a few times this season and didn't live up to the high school billing which is surprising because psu always have great defenders

Bad decision. He did not have a good year, played with a bad shoulder and needs to prove he is physical enough to play at the next level. I hope he comes to his senses and returns to PSU for his senior year. His step father should know better and needs to be honest with him.

xxx84, continue to lose?
He could get a lot more $ and earn his degree if he stayed in school for another year.

considering how shallow the CB group is for this years NFL draft, I don't see how you can fault him. With a good combine showing, he'll jump up the boards quickly.
Of course, if he shows poorly at the combine... D'OH!

NWPA, he graduated in 3 years. And PSU plays zone coverage so we haven't truly seen his man-to-man coverage ability.

It was a jab at PSU, I think he should stay and let OSU kick him around another year

He's got great speed. This guy could be Antonio Cromartie or he could be Deltha O'Neal. It all depends on how it works out for him at the next level.

What is xxx84xxx talking about? PSU has won at least 9 games every year King has played, with three bowl wins, including a BCS game. Not quite the golden days, but plenty of wins to savor.
I'm not sad to see him go after the way he played this year. Penn State has plenty of young talent ready to step up, and they'll be serious contenders for the Big Ten this year...and to actually play well against an SEC team in a bowl game.

He should have stayed. He had a very disappointing year, and he is definately better than he played this year. If only he would have stayed his senior year, he would be a first round choice next year.

Considering that the most important thing that NFL teams look for in DBs is speed, he should get drafted high. But a bad 40 at the combine and he drops like an anchor.
