Ryan Braun still hearing steroids jeers

09:23 AM ET 09.02 | As the Milwaukee Brewers' Ryan Braun jogged to left field in the first inning of a game against the Cubs last week, the catcalls cascaded from the Wrigley Field bleachers. "Ster-oids, ster-oids," fans chanted. "Hey, Ryan, I got a syringe for you!" screamed a man in a Cubs jersey well within earshot of Braun, cupping his hands around his mouth. Braun, his back to the crowd, stared straight ahead. The National League's reigning most valuable player, Braun has been the target of such taunts all season, stemming from a positive test for synthetic testosterone administered during last year's playoffs. Braun was the first major leaguer to win an appeal of a drug test, avoiding a 50-game suspension. Because he was exonerated on what some considered a technicality, questions about the legitimacy of his 2011 season lingered, and he became an easy target for fans.

You cannot litigate away what people believe. He better just get used to it. You cannot blame them. He is guilty in my court of opinion too.

wiseup: What does he expect. He tested positive but some screwed up and didn't follow procedures. Take fifty games off of his season and by now he would only have abou 18or20 homeruns.

HE DIDN'T TAKE A PED, HE TOOK A BANNED SUBSTANCE. All of you are hating because you WANT to hate, not because you want to check the facts and have a strong honest opinion on the subject. ESPN blew up the story in an effort of cheap journalism. That's the real shame>>> UNIFORMED AMERICANS anxiously buying into CHEAP JOURNALISM... Go watch MSNBC of Fox News and complain about other bs when you get off the Braun bashing message board.

actually ... they did follow procedures ... just a tad late as they looked at it ... really shouldn't have been an issue ... and the timing made no difference in the "quality" of the test ... he's guilty ... no ifs, ands or buts ...

and the one comment "crowd" from Wisconsin offer a defense for Braun: 1. he didn't consistently test positive. 2. He broke the rules but he only tested positively for a substance that shouldn't be banned.

for your first comment, you come across as a real homer. quite frankly, we just don't like cheaters and for your information STEROIDS ARE PEDS ... doesn't matter how fox or hardaball talk want's to try and paint it ... they are reporting bs just like ESPN and, for the record I don't like ESPN, refuse to watch it ... any station that employs idiots like skip bayless does not deserve my audience ... last and definitely not least ... your the one that needs to get over it ... Bruan is as guilty as Arod, Ortiz, Palmero, Conseco, Clemens and all the rest ... he needs to be banned for life ... all of them need to be booted ... they're ruining the game and there's no solution but to ban them ...

I did read it ... no word on who performed the test, hand picked by the defense team making it questionable ... test results were not ... NOT ... provided ... only reported on ... and even he and his defense team did not question the results of the original test ... as for should the banned "substance" should be banned or not ... why is it on the list in the first place ... give me a reasonable stance ... please ...

Look at all of the excuses coming in from Wisconsin. Your guy used. He got caught. He got off on a technicality, but he is and always will be a guy who cheated and got caught. Deal with it.

He's putting up the best numbers of his career this year while being extensively tested. Just hit a three run bomb (458 ft). The guy is the best in baseball, ability and character. You have no argument for the 2012 season. BUT I'm willing to compromise! You take your opinions, I'll take the clean, monster offensive production.
