Revis fights boredom on the field

08:00 AM ET 09.03 | First to make his way in 2012 to Darrelle Revis' Island will be Bills wideout Stevie Johnson, who has enjoyed modest success -- to the tune of 79.5 yards in two Buffalo losses last season -- against Revis. [Revis] is at the height of his powers entering his sixth season. Like Jordan, he constantly invents ways to motivate himself. He laughs at the suggestion that Johnson "owns" him. ... He's also trying to stay sharp, with so few teams throwing his way. "You're fighting boredom," Revis said. "One of the things is really fighting boredom out there, because I don't really get the ball thrown to me that much. So I just got to be prepared at all times and should expect the ball to come at me at any given time ... I don't get bored, but you got to be aware of it."

Then it's time to step up your game.
Deion Sanders used to get bored from the same thing. So he would try baiting/tricking quarterbacks to throw in his direction.

He could work on learning how to tackle. The 'windmill' approach isn't working.

All it would take to sink Reavis Island, is a tall WR, a committed QB and a coach who has some confidence ... which is not to be confused with 'Honfidence'

I get the feeling he's going to be on the field a lot this year. Offenses just need to swap fresh recievers in and run them long. Maybe a no huddle aproach. When his tounge is dragging the ground he'll start giving up the big plays.

Deion was a great cover guy. I'll give you that. But, Sanders couldn't tackle worth a crap. He always shied away from hits .

agreed. this guy is good but in my opinion he is not Elite . Sanders , C. Woodson , Bailey, Eric Allen, were just in another type of class. Be consistent for another 3 or 4 years then we will talk. I wonder if he has matched up against mega-tron yet.

Speak memory! There was at least one game late in the season last year when a team went right at Revis and worked him over pretty good. I can't remember which one (Giants or Pats, I think) but it showed that it can be done.

IMO Revis is better than every one named in that post and should be listed among Woodson, L. Hayes, D. Sanders, that is those who are truly great in every aspect of the position. I know Sanders wasn't a tackler but you don't have to tackle when there' only two passes thrown your way for an entire game against the game's best, namely Rice and Irvin before he was his teammate.
The said part of this is that Revis is not donning Blue and is stuck in that wasteland in Jetsland. Yeah... thats the truly sad part of it all!
