Baseball's best team (according to Manny Acta)

08:08 AM ET 09.03 | The Rangers certainly caught the attention of Cleveland over the weekend. [On Sunday,] Josh Hamilton, Adrian Beltre and David Murphy all hit solo home runs in the Texas fifth. Derek Holland (10-6) gave up two runs over seven innings as the AL West-leading Rangers took two of three in the series. Texas matched its best record through 133 games, having also gone 79-54 in 1999. "Texas is probably the best team in baseball, period," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "The guy hitting ninth today (Jurickson Profar) could be in the middle of the order for most teams. And how do you get the ball through the infield with the guys they have playing there? They should go very deep, if not back to the World Series, again this year."

That's why the game is played on the field..............

Not on paper........

Very concerned about the starting pitching. Great to see a guy come to the plate for the first time in his career and send one out as Profar did.

September 3, 2012  08:53 AM ET

True. But the playoffs start everybody left even again.

Sounds like Manny is trying to land a job on the Rangers staff after he's fired.

Manny wouldn't recognize the Nationals from the time he was in DC.

Texas is a very good team playing well at the moment. They have been the best team in the AL the last two years, but this year isn't over yet. Baltimore may well be better this year.

Baseball's best team, until they give it away to the National League

Ron Wash handles the personalities well over a 162 game season. But he is not a good game manager. He'll get outmanaged by someone like Bruce Bochy or Davey Johnson at world series time.

The Giants were not the best team two years ago, but they won it all. Pitching matters.

and the worse team? the indians? or the astros??

Great predication Manny on your way out. It is easy to say that since your team has quit on you and the Rangers have been in the series the last two years.

Many would argue the Cards weren't the best team last year either ... and I'm not saying the Rangers were ...

September 3, 2012  04:16 PM ET

rangers are not playing soft baseball this year, my guess is the rangers get the world series championship without any problem in 4 games sweep against whoever makes the final!!!

September 3, 2012  04:24 PM ET

there are plenty teams playing as a contenders but most of them are nothing but pretenders without any shame what'soever!!!
