08:18 AM ET 09.03 | Even in a down year, Texas can win. Stand proud, Longhorn Nation. For the seventh consecutive year, you've made the University of Texas at Austin the top seller of licensed college merchandise in the country. Take that, Aggies. The news came last month from the Collegiate Licensing Company, which tracks such things. The University of Alabama was second. Texas A&M came in 19th in the rankings of the top 75 universities. ... UT's Office of Trademark Licensing tracks its revenues on the academic calendar, which puts it slightly out of step with Collegiate Licensing's tracking, but the school raised $9.5 million in its most recent year, said Craig Westemeier, the office's director. "The money is shared with the campus," Westemeier said.

Not all programs are clients of Collegiate Liscensing, and are therefore not considered in their rankings. USCw and tOSU are two major programs that don't use these guys. I wonder how the list would look if all BCS schools were included?

So, they led in 2010 too didn't they? That was a good year.

Having played actual games now, you'd think there would be plenty of real football articles out there. Who cares about merchandise sales?

Yeah, my daughter even bought my grandson a bunch of that rusty cow stuff. Overpriced just because of the color and writing on it!

Wal Mart carries cheap run-of-the-mill stuff, mostly in size XXF.
Academy carries run-of-the mill stuff too.
The good stuff, at prices you can't afford, is carried at those collegiate sports specialty stores that have sprung up everywhere.
