08:09 AM ET 09.06 | By opening the season without Steve Nash or Grant Hill, Phoenix will officially have cut ties to the era that saw so much success. Rest assured, there are equally exciting times ahead for the Suns. To start with, while Goran Dragic is no Nash, he is also not the same player he was when Suns fans last saw him. ... The Suns have also ramped up their front court game with the additions of Luis Scola and Jermaine O'Neal, two solid veterans who will contribute as much off the court as they will on it. In the case of O'Neal, he will likely contribute a lot more off of it, as the likelihood that he will play a lot of games is, as always, low. Scola is a tough customer, and will push his new teammates to new heights.

Timberwolves, Jazz, and Mavericks, and the Sun will be fighting for the 8th spot.

Dragic sucks.

QUOTE(#6):

You must have not watch much of him. The kid is pretty good.

I've actually watched quite a bit of him. I will concede that he has made some improvements since he first entered the league, but he has a terrible shot and his decision making is typically poor at best.

The Suns have quietly put together a pretty good team. Dragic and Scola already have a good rapport from their time with the Rockets. Hopefully, Beasley will do well.

If the Suns don't get a playoff spot, it is because the west has a lot of good teams this year. I think the Suns could get 50 wins.

A lot of good teams out in the west. 50 wins will be an accomplishment for this team. Make you wish for the Joe Johnson, Steve Nash, Amare S, Shawn M, days. With the greatest coach of all times Dantoni leading them

QUOTE(#12):

The Suns are always just "good". They never rebuild to contend.

I think they've had several "contending" years. They've just never been built to take it over the top and win it all. Those years of glory were based on a fast transition game, and history has shown that the playoffs favor a team that can dominate in the half-court set.

It's sad, but for this team "contend" means "Contend for the last playoff spot"

Yes, it is the sad truth.

QUOTE(#18):

When they made a play for Shaq they ruined a good team.

A good team but there was nothing special about that team even then.
