08:19 AM ET 09.06 | Chris Pronger's career may hang in the balance of current CBA negotiations, and he offered his take on progress, or lack thereof, earlier this week. [He] didn't shy away from making any guarantees at a St. Louis Police Foundation luncheon Tuesday. Pronger "guaranteed" that the next season won't start as scheduled, Christine Byers tweeted, via Pro Hockey Talk. The owners and the NHLPA haven't spoke since the league's last proposal on Aug. 31. Commissioner Gary Bettman will meet with the league's Board of Governors on Sept. 13 and will outline where both sides stand in the CBA talks. In its last proposal, the league increased the players' share of the hockey related revenues (HRR) to 46 percent, up from 43 percent from their initial offer.

It should be noted, however, that Christopher thinks this is the 2004 lockout. He also showed up naked and kept yelling out Al Macinnes' name.

Concussions are a b___h

The players all knew the season wouldn't start on time, it was their plan all along.

Anyone who didn't see it when they brought in Donald Fehr to be the head of the NHLPA just plain wasn't looking.

Except for that pesky little fact that the players have agreed to play this season under the old CBA until a new one is signed.

That was a non-starter and the players knew it. The offer was nothing more than a fluffy P.R. move.

My bad, I hope they don't publish S.I. in braille ;)

It was a great PR move. The players have never threatened a strike, yet the league has threatened a lockout from the beginning.

For your sake, I hope they do as you'll need it.

Rex, Noboby---

I agree...PR moves and I think the owners are over a rain barrel.

PA is showing good faith (whether PR stints or not) and Buttgoblin is going to lose this ownership groups credibility.

Imagine Sep. 13 is Buttman's last day?

He could change his mind if Sather promises to pair him with Paul Coffee.

Unfortunately, Bettman is just the talking head for the owners. His job is secure.

I think Dwarfus Horriblus and his Owners wanted a lockout all along
